Not only do we monitor Premium Rate abuse but our fixed monthly checks also highlight exceptional call traffic. As dialling becomes more transparent and call forwarding is used more often, end-users can unwittingly pay high rates for what they perceive to be a local call.
This is due in most part to computer generated, data calls.

CASE STUDY

A customer was connected to an international call when invited to join a conference call with a colleague in an alternative location. He was instructed to dial a number in order to connect to the conference which in turn, activated a computer generated transfer. This resulted in call costs of £456.

One conference call at a cost of £456 is equal to 26,823 call minutes at standard local / national rate
